Committee Responsibilities
Below are our Six River Chapter (SRC) committees and the chair person for each committee. Some of the committees are a one time commitment and others are a
few hours each month. Even if you can commit just a few hours of your time we need your suggestions and participation. What a great way to meet other SRC

Communication:

This committee provides optimal and effective communication by using tools such as the website, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, fax and regular mail. The
committee publishes a quarterly newsletter and also sends monthly broadcast e-mails promoting the website and other chapter activities.

This committee provides educational and networking opportunities. The committee works with other local organizations to provide jointly sponsored events.
Some of the events may include small group meetings, teleconferences and our annual fall conference.
Membership:

This committee actively recruits new members and increases the participation of current members. The committee coordinates an annual membership survey and
also promotes local meetings by personal communications.
Health Care Policy:

The committee informs and advises on legislative and regulatory affairs, and also establishes an effective dialogue with governmental representatives. The
committee encourages chapter members to write to their representative on pending legislation, and also promotes participation in PAC donations.
Professional Outreach:

This committee promotes our profession. Promotions include Lab Week celebrations, career fairs, community education, and student scholarships.
Finance:

This committee establishes an annual budget with the input from the committee chairs, and manages the chapter’s finances. The committee explores fundraising
opportunities for additional resources to fund chapter activities and scholarships.
Strategic Planning:

This committee plans an annual strategic planning meeting. The committee evaluates the chapter’s strengths/opportunities, and reviews/assesses the chapter’s
plan as it pertains to its mission and vision.
